Thank you to all who attended and suported the 2nd Women Veterans Conference on Saturday, October 20, 2007 in Ashville, Ohio. Our next conference will be held in the spring of 2009, we will be providing updated information as it becomes available.

Maria Durant, anchor for WSYX-TV, Columbus, Ohio emcee the conference Senator Teresa Fedor, Minority Leader in the Ohio Senate, 11th District gave the opening remarks
Kathleen Chard, Ph.D., Director of the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Anxiety Disorders Division at Cincinnati Veterans Administration Medical Center gave a presentation on the treatment of women with PTSD. She is nationally known for her work with PTSD and was instrumental in opening a residential treatment program for women veterans in Cincinnati, Ohio. Colonel Nancy August, guest speaker from the 180th Fighter Wing, Ohio Air National Guard, in Toledo, Ohio provided the audience with her personal experience of serving in the military.
Our keynote speaker was Colonel Rhonda Cornum, Ph.D., M.D. and former Prisoner of War. She inspired the audience with her personal story of the many challenges and obstacles she faced but continued to strived forward with a positive attitude.
The attendees enjoyed lunch and time to converse with the other women veterans.
The auditorium was packed with women from all branches, all eras. Ages ranged from 25 to 95 and as far a way as Arizona.
Rebecca Lee, Chair for the Women Advisory Committee on Women Veterans provided the closing remarks and thanked all the attendees.
