Timothy
Espich was appointed by the Governor to assume the duties
as the Director of the Governor's Office of Veterans
Affairs on September 6, 2005. In that capacity, Espich
reports to the Governor on behalf of the 1.4 million
veterans that call Ohio home. He works as a liaison
with other levels of government agencies, guides and
assist with training and educational programs for veterans'
services providers, and acts on behalf of the Governor
in support of veterans' affairs and initiatives.
Mr.
Espich was born and raised in Springfield, Ohio.
He
is a graduate from Franklin University with a Bachelor
of Science degree in Business Administration.
Mr.
Espich enlisted in the United States Army National Guard
in 1981 as a computer operator. In 1984 he became a
fulltime active guard soldier for the Adjutant General
Department for the State of Ohio. With 24 years of military
service he served in several positions to included Platoon,
Battalion and Operations Sergeant and retired as a Master
Sergeant September 30, 2005.
Mr.
Espich is the recipient of numerous military awards
to include the Meritorious Service Medal and the Ohio
Distinguished Service Medal.
Mr.
Espich is married to Dawn, his wife and high school
sweetheart of more than 20 years. They reside in Springfield,
Ohio with their two sons Ryan and Brandon.
